The Flying Eyes - Lowlands , new album release

One thing THE FLYING EYES have definitely done is breathe new life into psychedelic blues rock over the course of their previous two albums, 2010’s self-titled set (made up of their first two EPS, Bad Blood and Winter) and 2011’s Done So Wrong. 2013’s LOWLANDS takes things even further, refining their fierce sound beyond previously acknowledged influences, amongst them The Doors, Black Sabbath, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, even Danzig and a touch of Neil Young’s Americana. Though it still owes a proud, nostalgic debt to the sounds of the late 1960s and early 1970s, Lowlands is quite simply timeless, nine thunderous slabs of howling, primitive but far from brutish rock that are as powerful as anything heard this year. LOWLANDS is packed full of eloquent harmonies, bludgeoning riffs, stoned melodies and an almighty rhythm section.

Release July 26 on Noisolution
