LOBI TRAORE’S FINAL STATEMENT

If it comes on African Blues, there’s no way around Lobi Traoré. Living in Mali’s musical Metropolis Bamako, he grew up with the sound of John Lee Hooker and Angus Young, two important fixed stars for his guitar play. Since his 1989 debut "Bambara Blues", he became one of Mali’s most popular singer&songwriters. Close to his death in June 2010, he had the chance to record a final album with Chris Eckman, to prove his skills for a final chapter. The album "Rainy Season Blues" is a document of Lobi’s bright voice over a moody and outstanding guitar, that became Lobi’s signature sound. And we are happy to publish it.
