Woven Hand David Eugene Edwards, singer, songwriter and frontman of the estimable 16 Horsepower, is also the man behind WOVEN HAND. A project that grew out of time on Edwards' hands after 16 Horsepower took time off, the first WOVEN HAND album was released in 2001, and its status as more than side project was confirmed when the highly acclaimed Belgian Dance Theatre Ultima Vez invited him to score their next project (following in the illustrious steps of David Byrne and Marc Robot).
This music was then in turn reworked for the subsequent Blush album. Described by UK magazine Uncut as a "songwriter of apocalyptic intensity", Edwards trades in dark musical forces: incendiary gospel, hallowed folk and mordant tones infused with a brooding intensity. Heartbreaking yet strangely uplifting, Edwards' haunting vocals and old-timer music communicate a mysterious, almost mystical beauty.
